Recently I had a client ask me what Enriching Gifts products I would recommend for Macular Degeneration. I had to admit that I had no idea, because I hadn’t researched this condition at all. So, now I have gotten out some of my favorite books to see what they can tell me about the condition, and what the experts recommend. This is what I do with all the subjects I write about. I do some research, and report to you what I have found.
Evidently there are two types of Macular Degeneration. Both are most common in people over 65. One is called ‘wet’ and the other is called ‘dry’. In general the non-pharmaceutical methods of dealing with them would be the same, with one great exception. With the ‘wet’ form the eyesight is being lost because of extra blood vessels that are being formed behind the cornea. Because these are small they rupture easily. It is this bleeding behind the cornea that causes the damage to the eyesight. That is why I would not encourage anyone to take
Enriching Gifts Plant Enzymes if they know they have ‘wet’ Macular Degeneration. The only exception would be if you had a way to closely monitor the effects. The reason I say this is the Enriching Gifts Plant Enzymes have a natural blood thinning effect. This is due to the enzymes cleaning out the blood stream of things that don’t belong there. For everyone else this is a very good thing, but not if you want to reduce bleeding.
That being said, if you have the ‘dry ‘ type of Macular Degeneration then I am told this is from a lack of nutrients to the eyes. The
Enriching Gifts Plant Enzymes would be wonderful in increasing blood flow to the eyes due to that natural blood thinning. The second thing the experts seem to agree on is the need for anti-oxidants. The National Institutes of Health did a study on the effect of vitamins and minerals on slowing and possibly reversing the effects of Macular Degeneration. I did not locate the study, the books I have said the study wasn’t out yet at the time they were published. Mark Lamden, N.D., is a naturopathic doctor and adjunct faculty member at Bastyr University in Bothell Washington. He indicates that natural vitamins are much better for this condition than synthetic vitamins. Enriching Gifts Complete Vitamins Plus and the Enriching Gifts Metabolic Complete both fit this bill very well.
Many scientists feel that a majority of the damage labeled Macular Degeneration is caused by free radicals in the blood stream. Some studies have focused on individual anti-oxidants; others have looked at the combinations. Though not conclusive there is a strong belief that the combinations actually work better.
Enriching Gifts Metabolic Complete has been formulated to give you a well rounded supply of anti-oxidants at levels that you cannot get from your diet alone. Coupled with the Enriching Gifts Complete Vitamins Plus you can be sure of a high level of all types of vitamins and minerals in your system, including the anti-oxidants. Along with taking the products look at the other preventative measures for good health, especially eye health. This includes protecting your eyes from exposure to bright sunlight with the right protective lenses, stop smoking, and avoiding chemical exposure whose fumes can damage the eyes.
